Open Educational Resources (OER) are any teaching resources that are available online which can be of no cost or very little cost. These can include lessons, games, worksheets, reading material, assessment tools or syllabi which are usually electonical.
Resources can be found at grade level or subject and some offer the ability for modification to suit the needs of the class. These resources are available to anyone with internet access including parents. It is cost effective as it lowers the cost for students and much variety can be found. The down side can be that some users may not find the right content but digilent research is needed to make the best out of it.

I have been using OER and the variety out there can be overwhelming but the worksheets and materials come in handy. These are great tools. For some persons it can be costly to print but there are ways to generate funds or to make it simpler.
